Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the Philadelphia Literacy Initiative platform you agree to these terms. The platform is for approved program volunteers, staff and administrators only.

2. Accounts and approval

Tutor accounts require administrator approval before use. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Accounts may be deactivated by an administrator at any time.

3. Student privacy obligations

You must never enter a student's or family member's name, contact information, or any other directly identifying information anywhere in the platform — including session notes, absence reasons and classroom observations. Refer to students only by their assigned student code or as "the student." Violations may result in immediate account termination.

4. Acceptable use

Use the platform only to record genuine tutoring activity and access only records you are authorized to see. Do not attempt to access other tutors' students or sessions, probe the platform's security, export data without authorization, or submit false records.

5. Accuracy of records

Session reports feed program funding and school reporting. Submit accurate dates, durations, attendance and progress data. Administrative edits to submitted sessions are tracked in an audit history.

6. Disclaimer and liability

The platform is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Philadelphia Literacy Initiative is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the platform.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Hosting of this application is additionally covered by the platform provider's terms at benmore.ai/terms.
